How Rank.st works
Choose a product, choose a board, and pay for placement. This guide explains the journey and the ranking rules.
Promote or Support?
Promote lets you choose a target position and calculate the additional payment needed to aim for it. Support lets you contribute an amount without choosing a position, with an optional public supporter name and remark. Both add to the same paid bid total on the board you choose, and either can move the listing up. These are two ways to contribute, not two separate rankings. You do not need to own a product to promote or support it; paying does not give you ownership or editing rights.
1. Find or add your product
If the product is already listed, click Promote beside it. To submit a URL, click Claim a rank, enter the product URL, fetch its details, and choose the appropriate category. An existing URL uses the existing listing rather than creating a duplicate. Review the product details before continuing. Products and videos have separate rankings; submit a public YouTube or TikTok video through the video board.
2. Choose All-time or Today
All-time keeps a running total of payments made to that board. Today is a separate daily advertising board: only payments targeting Today count there, and its totals reset at midnight UTC. An older product can buy a Today placement; it does not have to be newly submitted. A payment adds only to the selected board. Past daily results appear in the archive.
3. Choose a position and review the price
For Promote, select a position and calculate the bid. The quoted amount is an additional payment, not the product’s new total. A first placement on a board starts at $10; additional promotion and support start at $5. Amounts are whole US dollars, so they do not have to be multiples of $5. To aim above a competing listing, the quote brings your total at least $5 above that listing. When you browse a category, the quote targets the position in that category.
A pricing example
Suppose your product has $65 on All-time and the leading competitor has $75. To aim for #1, you pay an additional $15: your total becomes $80. If your product is already #1, the minimum additional promotion is $5; you are adding to its lead. Alternatively, $10 Support takes a $65 total to $75 without targeting a position. Older listings win equal totals. These examples are illustrative, not current prices.
Category rank and overall rank
The same payment contributes to both the category and overall ranking on the selected board. They are two views of one bid total, not two separate purchases. Being #1 in a category does not necessarily make you #1 overall: other categories may contain products with higher totals. All-time and Today still have separate balances and positions.
Supporting a product
Support becomes available after a product has its first paid placement. The +$10 Support button pre-fills $10; you can change the amount, with a $5 minimum. Choose the board, then optionally add a public name and a plain-text remark without hyperlinks. Leave the name blank to appear as Anonymous supporter. After confirmation, the contribution amount, name and any remark appear in the product’s public payment history. Support may improve its position, but no position is selected or guaranteed.
4. Continue to checkout
Review the selected board and additional payment, accept the Terms and ranking rules, then click Continue to checkout. A quote does not reserve a position. Only a confirmed payment changes the bid; opening checkout, a failed payment or an unconfirmed payment does not. On the test site, checkout is explicitly labelled simulated and no real money is charged.
5. See your placement and traffic
After confirmation, you arrive at the product page with the payment result and a link to its board placement. Check the selected board, category rank, overall rank and public bid record there. Another confirmed payment can change your position. Placement is paid promotion, not a rating of product quality, and it does not guarantee traffic or sales.
Sharing is different from paying
Sharing a listing link does not increase its paid bid or buy a position. Qualified visits and outbound clicks are recorded separately from payments.
What the numbers mean
A counted click is an outbound visit through our redirect, once per listing and visitor per UTC day. We filter obvious bots and repeat clicks. A board impression means a row was at least half visible for about one second. Neither number guarantees customers, sales, or YouTube or TikTok views.
What can be listed
A public product website or a public YouTube or TikTok video. You may submit a public destination you do not own, but you must not pretend to be its owner or misuse its name or rights. Use the final destination. Short links, group invitations, impersonation, unlawful material, scams, malware, and content that conflicts with our payment provider requirements are not accepted. Report questionable listings from their detail pages.
